As technology improves each year (making everything better and more affordable), it makes me just hope to keep up with my own growth as a filmmaker and visual storyteller.  I’m dancin’ as fast as I can.

Looking at my trailers brings back fond memories of the people and experiences that have come and gone in the past 7 years.  I am who I am today because of them.

I hope to see you at one of the screenings!!

It’s so amazing that I had to take a screenshot to show our film’s coverage sitting next to other high-end productions (including Soderbergh’s CONTAGION!!).  A little as this may seem, I must admit it’s a sense of accomplishment to get covered by such a high-profile film site.

The film I was hired to direct — DEATH OF THE DEAD (an action/comedy zombie film) — will have its World Premiere at HORRORFIND WEEKEND in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

Screening Details:
Saturday (Sept 4th – 3pm) – 30min Q&A with cast/crew after the screening

I’ll be sitting in on 2 panels at Horrorfind Weekend Convention:
- “Directing the Low Budget Horror Film” (Sept 3 Fri: 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM)
- “Breaking Into Acting” with Christina Rose (Sept 4 Sat: 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM)

I’ll be there starting Friday (Sept 3rd) to sit in on a few panels to discuss directing and acting.  And oh, did I mention CHRISTINA ROSE will be there as well for the screening and to connect with people who stop by our StrangeStuff booth.  We should have DVD’s of the film there for sale and she has her pen ready to sign them for you.

Everyone is really proud of how this film turned out (including the producers – whew!!).  It looks to be a blast of a weekend!! Come join the fun and say hello if you do. We hope to see you there!

- wrapped — much needed day off tomorrow — exhausted
- to me being a director often consists of wanting “A” — but given the choices of “B” or “C” — & making that critical decision on the fly

July 25 (Shooting Day #20)
- today was the only day where all the lead actors share a scene together – gonna explode from all the talent in one room (this video contains a sneak listen to “Moth to a Flame” — one of the original songs in the film — it shows the diverse range of Schermann’s composition)

- wrapped another 12-hr day – have to admit I was kinda stressed going into today – filmed a HUGE scene (with tons of coverage) with some of my most favorite talented actors!
- during these stressful shooting days….sometimes I have to remember to stop and enjoy what I’m doing

July 26 (Shooting Day #21)

- finished the day….rooftop hangout under the stars with the actors/crew – beautiful night
