NEW YORK LATELY at the FLYWAY FILM FEST (Pepin, WI)

I am going to be attending the Flyway Film Festival in Pepin, WI for the Midwest Premiere of NEW YORK LATELY.  The festival director Rick Vaicius has put together an impressive program that I am very much looking forward to.

My film is included in the local filmmakers programming block (I was born in Rochester, MN) — which I’m sure some festival goers may find a little odd that my film takes place in New York.  The other local films look to be very interesting so I’m eager to check them out and see the state of filmmaking in the Midwest.

Some highlights include Jamin Winans’s INK as well as an all-day Zombie Fest featuring ZOMBIE GIRL, DEAD SNOW, PONTYPOOL and Pericles Lewnes’s REDNECK ZOMBIES.  I will be sitting on a filmmaker panel discussing zombie films as well — to talk about a hush hush project I have been hired to direct among other things.

Brian Newman, Former CEO of the Tribeca Film Institute will be delivering the Keynote before opening night which should be very insightful on the state of independent film.  I hope to speak with him a little, catch up with the Winans (I met the dynamic duo when their film INK screened in NYC) as well as meet finally Rick “Vicious” Vaicius , Peri Lewnes and a few other filmmakers that I’ve met online in preparation for this event.

All this — and some incredible food I’m told.  I really hope to see you there and meet you.  Good times are ahead.
