Script is “finished”

The script has gone through 3 major overhauls since 2004…..and countless rewrites on the latest incarnation. What started as a 2 main character movie expanded little by little into the story that it is today….with 8 main characters weaving through the piece.

The best part now is there is a draft ready to be given to the actors we’re interested in casting for the film.

Once we’re shooting the film, I’m sure the script will have yet another evolution into something creatively exciting that only the actors can bring. Then the story will change yet again in the editing room piecing everything together….so in a sense, the script is never “finished”…it’s going to be an exciting ride.

One Day….400 Headshots

After posting the casting call for NEW YORK LATELY, in less than 24hrs we received more than 400 headshots from local NY Actors. First off, a HUGE THANK YOU to the NY Acting Community for the interest. It really means a lot to me to hear from actors letting me know that this material (even from just the little snippets of info on the website) is attracting them.

I must admit that I selfishly have written the script so that every character (lead or supporting) has a nice moment…giving the actor something to chew on. I love actors and watching them do their thing.

My Casting Director and I are busy going through many headshots, resumes, reels and hope to get through all of them soon. Auditions are starting to book as I write this….filling up fast too. NY rocks. I knew there was a reason why I moved here.

So Here We Go….

This will be my very first feature film endeavor and I’m extremely excited. A lot of years have gone into preparing for this moment. I’ll be using this blog to track the progress from pre-production through its eventual release.
