Borrowing from the Best

Over the weekend filmmaker Peter Yates passed away. Not too many people may know him but he made some film seriously great films…most notably for me were BULLITT and BREAKING AWAY.

BULLITT is such an influential film for me….so much so that for my second short film (HUBRIS – 2006) I pretty much lifted what I could from its amazing opening sequence.  Granted…my film was about speed dating while his was about cops and gangsters.
