NOW CASTING for HOW DO YOU WRITE A JOE SCHERMANN SONG
We are currently seeking:
- SUMMER (lead) — (female, all ethnicities, attractive, 18-35yrs, non-union) – an inspired, bubbly, flirty, driven girl. She is the muse to the main character “Joe Schermann” — Must be a strong classical and contemporary Broadway singer. Please prepare one 32-bar-cut of a “tin pan alley”-style musical theatre ballad that shows off range (ex: Porter, Berlin, Gershwin brothers). You may also be asked to sing a cut of a contemporary pop musical theatre piece (Menken, Schwartz, etc), so please have one prepared. Must also have STRONG dance technique with broadway and rhythm tap, Fosse, jazz, and modern styles.
- AUDITIONING SINGERS (day player) — (male/female, all ethnicities/ages, non-union) — strong singing skills not necessary but a plus
- STAGE DIRECTOR (day player) — (male/female, all ethnicities, 30s-60s, non-union)
- DANCERS (featured) — (male/female, all ethnicities, over 18, non-union)
Must have STRONG technique with broadway and rhythm tap, Fosse, jazz, and modern styles. Dancers will perform multiple styles throughout film so it is imperative that you are strong in all. Please be warmed up and ready to dance when the call begins.
Compensation: Copy of the film, Credit, Meals, Negotiable Pay (for certain roles only)
Production begins July 1, 2010
