3 Scenes That Affected My Life

Just a few standouts when I think about everything I’ve seen throughout the years.

These are not simply scenes I remember — they truly had a profound impact on me and on how I view the art of filmmaking.  There are many more but we’d be here for hours.

All fantastic scenes! Too bad Rutger Hauer and Harrison Ford peaked with Blade Runner–oh how could I forget Lady Hawke?

  2. Clarabela says:

The scene from Blade Runner is very moving. One of Rutger Hauer’s best.

  3. Zak Forsman says:

Ratcatcher is great! Wish Lynne Ramsey made more films. She’s a top influence on me as well.

  4. These are great, Gary. Had totally forgotten about Ratcatcher…thank you! Especially love the Edward Scissorhands scene. The combination of images and music still puts a lump in my throat.

  5. Jim Vendiola says:

I love Ratcatcher. Saw it just after my undergrad, and its cinematography still inspires me/my own work to this day.
