My Early Career

While visiting my folks in California for Thanksgiving, I decided to see if my old Super-8 films were still laying around. Thankfully my Mom saved them and our 30+ yr old projector still worked (barely).

I saw about 7 films from the late 70′s/early 80′s that I had done with my good friends from the neighborhood — memories came flooding back about some of them who are not around anymore — while others I am still in touch with to this day.

I wasn’t able to transfer the films to video which I plan to do in the future, but here are some images that I wanted to share with you: (Click images to enlarge)

I was shocked to see that I had done this at around age 7

This is a crazy stunt that I did with my friend – I was being dragged behind the bike which was inspired by the scene from RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK

More dragging goodness (note: there’s a skateboard underneath me)

Our epic battle scene (with only 2 people) – my brother provided the “CG” of explosions and gunfire

My friend in makeup (note the masking tape holding his mustache)

I wish you could see in this image the ketchup on his lip for the blood.  He was being “scanned” a la David Cronenberg’s SCANNERS
